Innovative Poster Presentation Information and Application
DEADLINE EXTENDED to April 18, 2025.
Poster presentations for the AWHONN MN Section 2025 conference must be:
- Original work
- Projects related to women’s health, obstetric, and/or neonatal nursing practice, education, research, or administration, such as:
- Completed or in-process clinical education, leadership change, or evidence-based practice.
Poster content guidelines:
- Explanation of current practice and proposed change is succinctly written.
- Guidelines used are evidence-based, and clearly described.
- Design/procedures is appropriate for the evidence-based guideline selected.
- Implementation strategies are clearly delineated.
- Sample/subject is appropriate.
- Data analysis is appropriate and related to the problem.
- Discussion/interpretation/evaluation of outcomes is clear.
- Content is free of commercial bias.
- Topic has implications for women’s health, obstetrics or neonatal nursing practice, education or research.
Submission Process (Please provide the following electronically):
- Title: Should spark interest, yet still clearly reflect the content. The title should be a concise statement of the main topic.
- Submitter(s) Email
- Brief Description: This is 2-3 sentences intended for posting on the conference website or other program materials to let attendees know what the poster is about and to encourage them to view your poster.
- Three Behavioral Objectives. After viewing your poster, the learner should be able to…
- Bibliography: Reviewers want to see the scientific or academic basis for your presentation, the sources for your assertions. You will be asked to provide at least 5 references, preferably from peer reviewed journals. At least must be current as of the last 5 years. The bibliography should not be included in the text of the abstract.
- Author Information: You will be asked to provide contact information, credentials, and affiliations for all presenters.
- CV/Resume: All presenting authors must submit a current curriculum vitae or resume.
Display Protocol
- Posters are put on display in a room or foyer adjacent to the conference rooms. Because we offer contact hours for poster review, posters cannot share space with exhibitors.
- Presenters are expected to be at their posters and available for questions during specified times.
- Selected poster presenters will be provided with a table. Posters must be capable of self-standing (examples include foam board formatting, tri-fold formatting, etc.). No easels, mounting boards, tape or Velcro will be available. Posters may not be taped to walls.
- Presenters will be responsible for their own travel and all expenses related to their poster presentation.
- Presenters are required to register and attend the conference and will receive a 25% discount on registration.
